What does a Teen Advisory Board do?

Join our TAB and share your opinions on what you'd like to see done at the Canajoharie Library and Arkell Museum.

  • Help create fun library & museum programs for teens (arts & crafts, video games, book discussions, etc.)
  • Give suggestions on books the library should buy for the teen section
  • Help design the new teen space on the library's website
  • Give input to create an inviting and interesting Teen Space
  • Participate in volunteer efforts at events throughout the year

Why should I join the Teen Advisory Board?

  • Looks good on a college resume, and can fulfil High School Community Service hours
  • Meet new people
  • Create fun displays and programs in the library
  • Read what you wanna read
  • There is always FOOD at the meetings!!!!!!!!

If you are interested joining the TAB, just show up to any meeting and fill out a very short registration form and you can start helping to make our library the best library ever! Meetings will be once a month, with volunteer opportunities throughout the year. We communicate with each other between meeting using Yahoo! Groups.

Teen Advisory Meetings are for teens ages 12-18 only. Meetings are supervised by the Librarian: Leah LaFera, and the Arkell Museum Curator of Education and Public Programs Andrew Albertson.
